Street Lights

Street Light Problems

If you have a problem with a street light that is within the City of Inverness, and it is convenient for you to obtain numbers off the pole, please do so. In the event you can not obtain the light pole number, you will be asked to provide as specific a location as possible.

Another piece of information you will be asked when reporting a malfunctioning street light is to describe how it is malfunctioning. Typically, there are three things which could be wrong with a light: it's always off, it's always on, or it flickers on & off. The more information the power company receives, the faster they can respond and fix the problem.

While you can go directly to the power company to report a malfunctioning street light that is within the City of Inverness, City staff in Public Works (352) 726-2321 or Administration (352) 726-2611 will be happy to help you report the problem.

A work order will be generated, you will get confirmation the problem has been received and a service technician will be dispatched as soon as possible.
